American Flag Lapel Pin Pattern

Materials Needed:

24 - Rondells - Opaque Red

16 - Rondells - Opaque White

16 - Rondells - Opaque Royal Blue

1 - #3 Safety Pin - Gold

8 - #2 Safety Pins - Gold

Directions:

Creating Pins: To add beads to the safety pins, hold one opened pin with the point facing away and up. Add beads as shown in the table at the bottom. Begin putting beads on the pin, starting with the beads listed on the bottom and working your way to the head of the pin. PLEASE NOTE: Beads should appear in the same order as shown below. (Make sure to create the number of pins needed of each type, & keep pins separate. 8 pins total.)

"B" Pins

(Make 4)

Step 1: On the #3 safety pin you must first relieve pressure on the spring. To do this, slightly pull open the pin as shown in figure 1: This will make it easier to thread the #2 safety pins through the coil.

Step 2: Holding the head of the #3 safety pin in your left hand, thread the bottom loop of 1 - "A" pin (bead side facing away from you), onto the #3 safety pin.  Continue threading the "A" Pin around the coil of the #3 safety pin until it is on the head side of the pin.

Step 3: Repeat step 2 - 3 more times until a total of 4 - "A" Pins have been added.

Step 4: Repeat step 2 again, substituting 4 - "B" Pins instead of "A" Pins.

Your American Flag Pin is completed.
